DESCRIPTION;FMTTYPE=text/html:Oakland University’s School of Education and Human Services’ Sexual Orienta
 tion and Gender Identity (SOGI) Initiative will host the 2013 Michigan SOGI 
 Education Conference. This conference brings together preK-12 educators, tea
 cher educators and community advocacy organizations to improve educational o
 pportunities for all Michigan youth, regardless of actual or perceived sexua
 l orientation, gender identity and/or gender expression. Participants will e
 ngage in a rich dialogue facilitated by leading experts, share resources and
  identify best practices. Together, they will plan next steps toward creatin
 g safer, more welcoming and inclusive schools. This year’s conference will i
 nclude hour-long concurrent sessions and roundtable discussions focused on m
 eeting the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning,
  and intersex students, staff, faculty and administrators. The 2013 conferen
 ce offers a full day complete with breakfast, lunch, and opportunities to re
 flect, network, and plan for the school year. Full details are available on
