Though David and Kristen Fin
ch had been friends since high school, it wasn't until after they married in
2003 that David's distinct behaviors and stunted social skills convinced Kr
isten that something was seriously wrong. In 2008 Kristen, a speech th
erapist, followed a hunch that led to David's being diagnosed with Asperger'
s syndrome. In his new book, The Journal of Best Practices, David, a onetime
audio engineer, chronicles his quest to be a better husband, father, and pe
rson, with Kristen helping him every step of the way. David Finch has been f
eatured on NPR, in People Magazine, The New York Times, The Chicago Tribune,
and in many other nationally-prominent radio shows and publications.This ev
